May 4 - the day....

Had a quiet sleep at the 12 Tribes Casino. Cloudy but warm morning, crossed the border by 10:00 am.....It's OVVEEERRR!!

.....back to reality....6700 km....

May 3 - Oregon to Washington

Last long driving day. Woke to a Chilly morning but didn't take long before the sun came out. 

Super nice campground that is deserving of a return trip one day.

It's always an enjoyable drive up Hwy 97 from Bend Oregon to Washington. Forget sometimes how much we love it.

Then across the Columbia River into Washington.

Always like a stop at the Maryhill area for a stroll. Nice state park with a little wine & gift shop.

Then up up up we go again.. 

And down again...ignore the bugs on the window...hazards of a long drive!

Quick stop in Lake Chelan for Lu to stretch her legs. All the dogwood trees are in full bloom here. Another one of our favourite places to visit. 

And the start and finish to most of our USA bound vacations....12 Tribes Casino in Omak...no gambling tonight, just a glass of vino  to end the last long drive of the holiday.....

May 2 - California to Oregon

Five hours on I-5, not too bad of a drive, lots to see along the way. Acres and acres of grapes and still lots of Olive Trees and Pecan trees.

Lu has been such a great traveller...just sleeping away and sits up once in a while to say hello..

Lake Shasta looking pretty full..

Up and down hills and mountains....not good for the fuel bill..Mount Shasta in the distance.

Great truck colours!!! Like a crayon box!

Stopped at a nice Rest Area in the hills above Weed California for some lunch and for Lucy to be taunted by the chipmunks everywhere!

Another 10 ish hour drive and finally made it to LA Pine State Park outside Bend Oregon. Beautiful park, full hookups....but coolish...our bodies are not used to this temperature...8 degrees is not warm at all....brrr

Beautiful cool night with the furnace on...brr...down to 2 degrees at night...
